App State Pitch Contest

On July 22nd, 2022, the OC team competed in their first ever pitch contest. After a 2 week long summer program, the team, paired together and created their business pitch and plan within 4 days. The OC team went up against 5 other amazing teams made up by their fellow classmates.

The OC team was the biggest of all of the teams, with 5 members. Ansley Barker started them off with statistics about at-risk teens.

The team established a great personal connection with the judges and the audience through Zoom. Asking people to raise their hands if they knew of someone who fell into the at-risk youth category (pictured above.) When it came time to be interviewed by the judges, they had almost no questions which was astonishing to the group. Ella Grace Smith shared part of her personal story with the judges.

After the team exited the stage, they were ecstatic for how well they did. All of the teams then indulged in a meal together while waiting on the judges to make their final decisions. After some singing and dancing and lots of story telling, the winners were announced with the first place prize.
